Zu allererst möchte ich euch ein schönes Osterfest wünschen – mit hoffentlich schönem Wetter, gutem Essen und einigen ruhigen Tagen.
Ich genieße derzeit ein paar ruhige Tage und habe deshalb einen Spaziergang zum nahegelegenen Friedhof unternommen – Vögelgezwitscher und tierische Begegnungen inklusive 🙂
Hier ein paar kleine Impressionen.
Hoffentlich könnt ihr den Frühling auch genießen und habt schöne Fleckchen zum Entspannen.
Gestern habe ich das wunderschöne sonnige Wetter genutzt und einige Zeit im Zoo Leipzig verbracht. Diesen Plan hatten natürlich auch andere, und so waren doch verhältnismäßig viele Menschen unterwegs, aber es war nicht überlaufen.
So yesterday I took advantage of the wonderfully sunny weather and took a stroll at Leipzig Zoo. This was also the plan for some other people, but luckily it wasn’t that crowded and so I could enjoy this lovely time 🙂
Natürlich habe ich auch dem jungen Elefantenbullen einen Besuch abgestattet, der mitsamt Mutter und Tante die Sonnenstrahlen auf der Außenanlage genoss und ab und an bei seiner Mama den Durst stillte.
Alles in allem ein wunderschöner Ausflug.
For sure I spend some time taking a look at the young elephant, who was outside with his mother and aunt and they spend their time wandering around and the little one enjoyed the sun and having some milk every now and then.
Definitely a really nice time wandering around the zoo.
Der Sommer ist die Zeit der Tagesausflüge – und obwohl dieses Jahr in dieser Hinsicht nicht so ausgiebig ausgefallen ist, sind es doch die spontanen Eingebungen und Ausflüge, die am entspanntesten sind. Zumindest trifft das auf diesen Ausflug zu.
An einem Dienstag – nachdem ich schon eine Weile überlegt hatte, aber zu keinem Ergebnis gekommen bin – traf ich die spontane Entscheidung: ich fahre in den Tierpark Dessau. Gesagt, getan. Die Zugfahrt war auch sehr entspannt und der Weg vom Bahnhof Dessau zum Tierpark auch wunderbar ruhig und nicht sehr weit weg.
So summer is the time for day-travels – and although this year wasn’t that filled with travels, it’s the spontaneous things and travels that make the most relaxed time. At least this was the case with this one.
At a tuesday morning – after spending some days wondering where to travel or if to travel at all, I made the quick decision to go: I went to the small Zoo in Dessau. Said and done. I went by train, which was quite relaxing, and the short walk from trainstation to the zoo was also really nice and wasn’t that long.
Also nun, ohne große weitere Worte – Impressionen aus dem Tierpark Dessau. Er ist nicht sehr groß und schön bewaldet. Einiges wird umgebaut und erneuert. Sicherlich ist es kein Vergleich mit größeren Tiergärten oder Zoologischen Gärten wie Berlin, Hamburg oder Leipzig – aber auch die kleinen Tiergärten haben ihren Anreiz und müssen sich meist mehr Mühe geben, die Besucher anzuziehen und ihren Tieren eine artgerechte Haltung zu ermöglichen.
So now – without many more words – enjoy some impressions from the zoo in Dessau. It is not that big but lovely and has many trees. Some things are rebuilt and renewed. For sure you can’t compare it with more spacious zoos like Berlin, Hamburg or Leipzig – but also small zoos have their specialities to attract visitors and have to do a lot more to give their animals at least a appropriate home for the time they live there – and to get visitors to come to their smaller zoo.
Der Tierpark Dessau ist definitiv einen Besuch wert und die naturnahe Gestaltung und die vertretenen Tierarten lassen auf eine gute Zukunft hoffen – mit den notwendigen Umbauten, damit sich alle Tierarten wohl fühlen.
I definitely recommend visiting Dessau zoo – for it has lovely animals and it’s surroundings with many trees give hope for a brighter future. Sure – there are definitely things that need to be done to give all the animals the space they need to feel at least a little bit pleased with their surroundings – but I have hope for the future of the zoo.

So, 2016 neigt sich dem Ende zu und ich möchte noch einmal einen Blick auf die besten Momente dieses Jahres werfen.
So – 2016 will be gone in a few hours and so I would like to look back at some great moments this year.

Das Jahr startete mit einer TV-Reise zu den Abenteuern aus „Zoo“, die natürlich auch auf einem Buch basieren und wurde fortgesetzt mit Skeletten und einer interessanten Liebesgeschichte. Aber das war noch nicht alles. Weiter gings mit motivierenden Worten von Derek Hough, einer Zeitreisegeschichte „in times like these“ und der Frage von Silas und Charlie, was denn wohl „Never, Never“ bedeutet.
The year startet with the adventures of „Zoo“ followed by interactions with skeletons and a lovely love story. But thats just the beginning. I also had some motivating words by Derek Hough and some time-travelling – and for sure the question of Silas and Charlie what „Never Never“ meant.

Im Februar machte ich literarische Bekanntschaft mit der Geschichte von Yosef Şimşek und besuchte bald darauf die Leipziger Buchmesse – nur ein Highlight meines Jahres.
Im Mai zog Oobi-Ooobi in den Zoo Leipzig ein und ich bin noch immer total begeistert von „unserem“ Koala.
In February I read the story of Yosef Şimşek and visited the Leipzig Book Fair – just one of the Highlights of my year.
In May we welcomed Oobi-Ooobi at the Zoo Leipzig and I am still totally crazy for this loveable animal.
Ein weiteres Lese-Highlight meines Jahres war „Our Song“ von Dani Atkins – ein Buch, das mich zum lachen und zum weinen gebracht hat.
Natürlich gab es auch noch die Highlights aus dem Bereich „Ausflüge“. Dieses Jahr zählten die unterschiedlichsten Besuche von Tierparks, u.a. Hirschfeld und Eisenberg dazu. Auch dem Magdeburger Zoo stattete ich einen Besuch ab.
Eine Abrundung meiner Liebe zur Fotografie und besonderen Momenten war, dass ich das Viertelfinale des Fritz-Pölking Preises erreichte.
Another reading-highlight of 2016 was Dani Atkins‘ „Our Song“ which got me laughing and brought me tears.
Action-wise there were also some Highlights this year – the visits of several zoos, including Hirschfeld, Eisenberg and the zoo in Magdeburg.
Regarding my love for photography and beautiful moments 2016 had this for me to offer: The quarter finals of the Fritz-Pölking Prize.
In den folgenden Monaten ging es weiter mit Abenteuern: ein Urlaub in London – die letzten Artikel dazu folgen im Neuen Jahr :-), weitere Lesehighlights von Marion Schreiner und Iona Grey, von Tom Michell und Annis Bell und erst kürzlich das wunderbare Buch „Three Dark Crowns“ von Kendare Black.
Schöne Weihnachtsfilme (Puppy for Christmas, Heaven Sent, Sound of Christmas, Journey back to Christmas) rundeten das Jahr ab und bildeten ein weiteres kleines filmisches Highlight – zusammen mit der Serie „Fuller House“ – eine Fortsetzung, die absolut gelungen ist.
In the following months the adventures never stopped: a holiday in London – the last articles for this one are to follow in the New Year :-), more reading-highlights by Marion Schreiner, Iona Grey, Tom Michell and Annis Bell and definitely „Three Dark Crowns“ by Kendare Black.
Some wonderful christmas movies followed – together with „Fuller House“ which definitely brought warm feelings and I am really excited for its third season.

Das größte Highlight war mein persönliches Vor-Weihnachten: der Besuch der Comic Con in Dortmund, wo ich wunderbare Menschen treffen konnte und eine interessante Zeit hatte.
The biggest Highlight so far was my personal pre-christmas present: a visit to the Comic Con in Dortmund, where I met lovely people and got to have an amazing time.
Nun heißt es abwarten, was 2017 so bringt…
Now I am excited what 2017 is to bring…
