~ Mal wieder im Zoo Leipzig / Another Day at the Leipzig Zoo ~

Als ich letztens mal wieder im Zoo Leipzig war (dank meiner Jahreskarte), wurde ich von von Himmelsguckern begrüßt…

So here are some expressions from the last time I went to Leipzig Zoo… When I began my tour I was greeted by some of the lovely monkeys looking at the sky…

Schnell musste ich feststellen, dass die auch ganz anders können…,

And fast I discovered, that they can also show other sides…

sich aber ihres „Verhaltens“ bewusst waren und sich ertappt fühlten…

…but were „aware“ of the look and felt caught…

Ganz anders war da unser Oobi-Ooobi drauf, der gemütlich ein Nickerchen hielt…

A different view was our koala, Oobi-Ooobi, who used his time to take a little nap…

…und sich nur mal kurz umdrehte oder kratzte – und dann genüsslich weiter döste…

…. just shortly interrupted to change position – and then go to sleep again…

Andere dagegen guckten neugierig…

Others were quite interested in things going on….

…zeigten im spielerischen Kampf Zähne…

… or showed their teeth in a playful fight…

… oder nutzten die Gelegenheit, um in die Ferne zu schauen…

… or used the opportunity – and the place they were sitting at – to look a little bit further

than usual…

Die Hyänen waren trotz der Uhrzeit noch etwas müde…

The hyaenas were still (0r again?) a little bit tired – despite the time being around 5 o’clock p.m….

…und die Jungen suchten die Nähe von Mama…

…and the young ones were looking for a cuddle with mama…

Die Flamingos ließen sich bei der Nachwuchspflege beobachten…

The flamingos were caring about their offspring…

…und bei der Pflege der noch kommenden Generation der eleganten Vögel…

…and also caring for those of these elegant birds who are not born yet…

Auch kleinere Bewohner, die man sonst selten sieht, ließen sich blicken…

Also this was the first time I spotted these guys…

…und Oobi-Ooobi zeigte doch nochmal den Schlafzimmerblick – kurz vor dem nächsten Nickerchen…

…and Oobi-Ooobi was a little bit awake – shortly before getting again back to sleep…

Man kann also nur immer mal wieder vorbeischauen und die Entwicklungen betrachten – und allen Neuzugängen einen schönen Sommer wünschen 🙂

So you have to go and take a look every now and then – and see the new members and wish them a wonderful summer 🙂

Auf dass sie wachsen und – wie in diesem Fall – große Flamingos werden 🙂

May they grow into – like in this case – wonderful flamingos 🙂

~ Jurassic World is coming… ~

~ Neues aus dem Zoo Leipzig / News from the Zoo ~

Wenn man eine Zoo-Jahreskarte hat, ist es auch immer sehr förderlich, wenn man diese auch ausnutzt.

Aus diesem Grund war ich letzte Woche Freitag wieder im Zoo – und diesmal war nicht nur schönes Wetter, sondern ich hatte auch die Freude, Teile der neuen Wohngemeinschaft aus Geparden, Nashörnern & Co. zu sehen.

Endlich 🙂

If you got a years-card for the local zoo it is really good to use it. Thinking of that I was lucky enough to get to the zoo last friday – again. And this time the weather was not only really good, I also had the chance to see parts of the shared-living-community of cheetahs, rhinos & co.

Finally 🙂

Auch die Affen auf der neu umgestalteten Anlage am Eingang des Zoos ließen sich von den Sonnenstrahlen inspirieren und waren ebenfalls zu sehen.

Also the monkeys in their newly-made home near the entry of the zoo were outside and climbing around in their trees.
