Gestern war Hamlet-Tag.
Yesterday was Hamlet-Day. Everywhere.
Überall.
Und viele Menschen haben diese Möglichkeit genutzt.
And many people have been using this possibility.
In vielen Städten rund um den Erdball wurde die Aufführung aus der britischen Hauptstadt live übertragen und so hat das Team von National Theatre (wie auch schon das Stück Frankenstein) und dem Barbican vielen Menschen etwas ermöglicht, was diese sonst so nie gesehen hätten.
In many cities around the globe the performance was live-broadcast from the british capital. By doing this the National Theatre (just like with Frankenstein) offered so many people the opportunity to see this wonderful piece of art.

Dank MDR-Figaro wusste ich schon seit einiger Zeit von der Übertragung ins Leipziger Cinestar und hab natürlich auch zeitnah schon Karten gekauft. Zunächst war die Zahl der besetzten Plätze noch überschaubar, aber je näher der Termin rückte, desto weniger blieb leer.
Thanks to MDR Figaro I was aware of this screening some weeks before and so I bought my tickets before the wider audience got this news. Good thing to do because the nearer the due date came the lesser seats were available.
Which is not a surprising thing if you have in mind that Benedict Cumberbatch stars in the play as Hamlet. After this wonderful performance I can definitely tell: this man can play anything in the world! He is an absolutely gifted actor and you see his joy while playing the character.
Kein Wunder, spielt doch Benedict Cumberbatch den Hamlet und nach dieser grandiosen Vorstellung kann ich wirklich sagen: dieser Mann kann wirklich alles spielen und ist ein extrem begnadeter Schauspieler, dem man seine Freude beim Spielen anmerkt.

Und zum ganzen Ambiente der Übertragung kann ich auch nur bestes von mir geben. Das Bühnenbild, das sich natürlich immer wieder mal geringfügig ändert, ist wie immer fabelhaft und spiegelt sämtliche Stimmungen ausdrucksstark wieder.
The whole ambiente of the screening was really lovely made. The stage design which is changed every now and then in small parts is – as always – fabulous and mirrors every emotion really well.
When changing the stage setting a little bit all of the actors where involved and you can tell ‚Hats off‘ to them! The whole cast of Hamlet has to be in great shape if you see how much they are running around during the whole play.
Beim Wechsel der Bühnenbildteile waren natürlich auch die Schauspieler beteiligt und man kann nur sagen: Hut ab! Die Schauspieler von Hamlet müssen wirklich eine gute Kondition haben, wenn man sieht, wie sie während des Stücks durch die Gegend rennen.

Hamlet – wunderbar dargestellt von einem grandios aufgelegten Benedict Cumberbatch. Man könnte sich jetzt in diversen Einzelheiten verlieren, aber kurz gefasst: es macht wirklich Spaß, ihm zuzuschauen! Und das in sämtlichen Facetten des Charakters.
Hamlet – absolutely brilliant work by a terrific Benedict Cumberbatch. I could loose myself in small details, but to say it short: it is a really wonderful thing to see him doing his work! And that in every shade of his portrayed character.
Ophelia – dargestellt von einer ebenso talentierten Siân Brooke. Diese spielte Rollen u.a. in Dinotopia, Inspector Barnaby,…
In Hamlet überzeugt sie zunächst als positiv gestimmte junge Frau, die später in ihrer leicht wahnsinnig gewordenen Verfassung Selbstmord begeht.

In Hamlet she is absolutely convincing as the positive girl who turned later into a lunatic girl who commits suicide.

Ich war jedenfalls restlos begeistert!
I was absolutely thrilled with this great play!
Für diejenigen, die noch nicht in den Genuss gekommen sind – auf der offiziellen Seite vom National Theatre kann man schauen, wo demnächst eventuell noch Übertragungen zu sehen sind.
For those of you who missed the screening: you can go to the official site of the National Theatre and take a look where cinemas are showing the play again.
For this you just go under the small map on the right side of the site and put in your place of residence and then they show you the nearest place to catch the screening.
Dafür einfach unter dem Kartenausschnitt rechts den Wohnort eingeben und man erfährt, wo in der Nähe noch Screenings zu sehen sind.
HAMLET ist auf jeden Fall einen näheren Blick wert und ganz besonders auch für Hamlet-Muffel, denen die Schule den Genuss des Shakespeare-Stücks verdorben hat!
HAMLET is a play for everyone to see and definitely good for those of you who didn’t get the best of it from the „must-read“ during your school times!
